WHAT IS GOOD - branding, identity and processes

Melibea Honey

These designs are extremely light hearted, fun and playful. The use of hand drawn type is extremely aesthetically pleasing, and appeals to me in terms of informing my own design. The colours compliment each other well, and the use of pink and blue give a really nice feminine touch to the overall design. The illustration of the bee gives a friendly feel to the product, and the design works well across a number of different sized formats.

La Julieta

Vinyl stickers have been used on brown stock to create a really eye catching visual. The bright colours contrast nicely with the brown paper, to give a natural and healthy vibe. Clear film has been used to allow the audience to see the product inside, and an interesting method of sealing has been added. A metal strip has been used so that the edges of the fold can be turned over, and it can be tightly sealed. This is then given extra support through the use of a sticker in order to keep the contents fresh.

Bonnard

The colours of these products really appealed to me and caught my eye, and so did the use of scanned in watercolour and paint. They have been applied successfully to a number of different formats, and offer a different take on food packaging. The colours compliment the products, and didn't represent the product well. Gold foiling has also been used on the type, which makes this a luxurious purchase.

Jimbo

Embossing and silver foiling has been used on the branding of this product. The silver compliments the pink nicely, and gives a feminine touch to the product. These processes make the product quite luxurious and eye catching. The stock used also gives quite a natural aesthetic which mixes well with the pink text.

Bermellon

These products are slightly insane, and the colours don't necessarily fit their purpose or products. However, it is interesting to see how such intense gradient colour has been applied. The stickers and text are kept simple in order to keep the design as clean as possible.

Theo

These designs are playful and lighthearted. The use of hand drawn type is effective and has been used well with the inclusion of borders and illustration. This type works well with the logo, which is in a similar style, and an appropriate typeface has been chosen. The colours aren't particularly to my taste, however, I feel that they work well for the products they are intended for.

Pana chocolate

For the branding of this product, embossing has been used, as well as a metallic silver. This implies luxury and high quality. This therefore reflects the type of chocolate that the customer will be purchasing. The illustrations have been kept similar throughout the entire range, so that they work together as a cohesive whole. Pattern has been used in order to packing the contents, which is nice addition to the overall design.
