UK GREETINGS - Rifle Paper Co.

About Rifle Paper Co.

Rifle Paper Co. is a boutique stationery and gift brand based in Winter Park, Florida created by husband and wife team, Anna and Nathan Bond.

What began as a small business based out of Anna and Nathan's 1-bedroom apartment has quickly grown into a worldwide brand over the last three years. Our products feature Anna's whimsical designs which often include hand-painted illustrations and lettering to compose a style that feels both nostalgic and timeless.

All of our paper products are printed in the USA (most locally in Florida) and are inspected and assembled by hand in our studio. We use FSC-certified paper stocks with recycled content, environmentally responsible printers, and select high quality materials that allow for products that are both well-made and enhance our designs. Everything that we create is well thought to ensure that we end up with a collection of products that we would not only use but are incredibly proud of.

We strongly believe life's personal stories and moments are best told through the gift of a hand-written card or note, and hope that our goods inspire you to share these moments with others. Please let us know if there's anything we can assist you with or ways that we can improve your shopping experience.

Easter

This card features a number of bunnies painting eggs in order to spell out 'EASTER'. The illustrations are painted, and use a variety of complimentary colours, which work well against a stark white background. The interior is blank and they come with matching soft white envelopes. The design is sweet, yet is not too "childish" to pigeonhole the audience.

This design features a variety of painted eggs that hold some beautiful and intricate patterns. The colours are extremely effective and give an almost woodland vibe to the design. Hand rendered type has also been used on the exterior, meaning that the interior of the card is blank.

Blocks have colour have been built up in order to spell out a message, creating an effective design. The colours are relevant to the content, with the envelope adding an extra dimension through the use of a complimentary block colour.

This design works extremely well, as although it is quite busy, white space has been used in a way that breaks it at all up. These cards are all an interesting format as they fold along the horizontal edge. Usually, many cards fold along the vertical.

Happy Mother's Day

Hand rendered type is something that I want to include within my designs. Simple type can be made much more appealing and exquisite through the use of colour and finishes. The use of metallics has created an expensive and polished finished.

The orange tones used contrast beautifully with the green within this design. The hand drawn type also offers a unique and personalised touch, that could almost make the recipient wonder if this is something you have produced yourself. I often find relatives enquiring as to whether or not I have designed certain cards myself, and I often find myself saying "I wish."

Father's Day

It is always difficult to find Father's Day cards much more than it is to find Mother's Day cards in my opinion. Most Father's Day cards tend to contain either something to do with football, alcohol or golf, and if your Father isn't interested in any of these then you're not left with much choice. These cards below, designed especially for this occasion, have got it spot on in my opinion. Through the use of pattern and colour, the audience is not pigeonholed, allowing the product to be given to a wide ranging number of fathers.

Sets

Looking at how cards work together as a set through the use of colour, pattern, illustration and message. Evident themes run throughout these sets, however, other factors must be taken into account in order to make sure that they work individually and together.

Two colours applied across a range of different objects, allowing them to work effectively. Sometimes when a number of different objects and colours are used, it can be difficult to apply them in a way that makes sense. By restricting your colour palette, you can get an end result that makes sense.

Looking at different ways to package a range of cards. The use of string to keep them together is a nice touch, and is also reflective of the postal service.

Gold foil hand lettering

Creating a simple range of cards that display solid colours and gold foil lettering. Simple designs can be made extremely effective through the use of finishes. This is something that UK Greetings are looking for within their designs.
