UPSIDE DOWN RAINBOWS

After doing some research into the positive aspects of rain in the UK, I started to look further at rainbows, which are typically admired by all. As Chesterton's saying goes 'without the rain there would be no rainbow'. Rainbows are a thing of beauty, and are certainly an advantage of the rain.

'A rainbow is an optical and meteorological phenomenon that causes a spectrum of light to appear in the sky when the Sun shines on to droplets of moisture in the Earth's atmosphere. It takes the form of a multicolouredarc. Rainbows caused by sunlight always appear in the section of sky directly opposite the sun.
For colours seen by a normal human eye, the most commonly cited and remembered sequence, in English, is Newton's sevenfold red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet.'

My research into rainbows led me to a story about upside down rainbows, something I'd never heard of or come across before.

They are also known as smiles in the sky.
