WHAT IS GOOD - textile digital print research

As I am going to do some digital print on fabric, I wanted to get a better understanding of the quality of print you can get from this process, and the type of image used.

Chiara Tubia

A collage based pattern that has been printed onto silk. The colours used within this print are extremely feminine and dreamy, and take on a watercolour aesthetic. The use of the collage effect makes this a really interesting print, with a lot of depth and colour. This pattern would work well across both a large and small surface, and would look extremely delicate and lovely printed on silk.

Jane Flanagan

This pattern has also been printed onto a silk fabric, and is intended for use within the fashion industry. The fabric printed has been used to create dress designs which are really striking. The use of colour and geometric shapes make this piece extremely eye catching on such a delicate fabric.

Charis Harrison

- Chiffon

The pattern created here is intended to be printed onto chiffon fabric and has been created using watercolour inks. This will help inform my own practice as I will be using watercolour for my illustrations. This is helpful in terms of knowing the type of colour and print quality when it comes to completing my own designs.

- Silk Cotton

Images that display how printed pattern on fabric has been applied to actual fashion products. They also show how additional features can be used to make a really striking item.
