In order to see what else was available in terms of cooking apps, I decided to look at what some well known TV chefs had to offer. Jamie's 15 Minute Meals is currently an extremely popular TV show, allowing you to create healthy and appetising meals within 15 minutes. I therefore felt it would be interesting to see how he translates such quick recipes onto an app for the iPhone or iPad.
On his website, it gives a quick overview of the app itself, telling you the different features you will find. These include grab and share ingredient lists. videos and recipes. The app appears to have a very contemporary feel to it, and makes use of digital photography, as opposed to illustration. Photography, allows you to create a temptation around the product, through the use of rich and vivid colours.
The website then goes on to display how the app works across the size of an iPad screen, and how it can be turned around to create a full screen mode.
Also available, is Jamie's Recipe's for the iPhone and iPad, which claims to make cooking at home even easier. There is a quick overview of the visuals of the app itself, which looks clean and simple.
Further imagery of the app is shown, in the form of a quick overview, displaying different features including a recipe library and essential ingredients and utensils.
Screenshot of the iPhone application, and what different features are available. These include recipes, shopping list, videos and store. It also briefly states how social networking can be linked to the app, allowing you to take pictures of your meals which can then be posted to Twitter or Facebook.
Recipe packs that can be downloaded onto the application. The website does not say how much this feature costs.
