SWEET PACKAGING AND LABEL

As part of my ten products, I am going to produce stickers and labels suitable for sweet bags/popcorn bags. Therefore, I needed to research into this.
I really didn't want to go for the usual garish colours of the circus - reds, yellows, blues. I thought it would be nice to focus on much more softer and sweeter shades, mainly pastels.
I took initial inspiration from a Bertram Mills poster that I found. Using a colour pallet generator, a website had created swatches of colour for this particular piece (http://bighugelabs.com/colors.php)

These colours seemed much more appropriate for what I was going to be producing as I was primarily focusing on traditional confectionary.

I took inspiration from the vintage circus parties seen below. I picked up on a lot of things from colours to patterns. The use of stripes is always evident within circus themed products, as well as the usual circus imagery.

Here, certain patterns, colours and imagery has been used in order to create a traditional circus feel with a bit of a twist. The only problems I can see arising from something like this is possibly to do with the limited colour range. It's all very pink, very feminine. Although in today's society, it is claimed that pink can be for anyone, people still have a very closed opinion on colour. Generally, it is not seen as unisex. This is therefore something for me to think about when coming up with my designs. I must have an appropriate colour pallet that works in a way that it reflects my theme, but is also appropriate for both genders.
